About DOGI
Before DeFi, before L2s, there was DOGI. It brought fungible tokens to Dogecoin for the first time, inspired by Bitcoin's Ordinals and BRC-20, and it was minted entirely by the community.
The fungible token standard of Dogecoin, built on Doginals. A small JSON payload is inscribed on-chain, and indexers compute balances from those inscriptions. No smart contracts needed.
No ICO, no pre-sale, no VC. Anyone could mint 1,000 DOGI per inscription until all 21 million were claimed two months after launch.
// The DOGI deploy inscription { "p": "drc-20", "op": "deploy", "tick": "dogi", "max": "21000000", "lim": "1000" }
Dogecoin has an ongoing issuance. DOGI's supply is fixed forever at 21 million, the same cap as Bitcoin.
